He could've signed Cahill and Coates. I was obvious Agger would get injured at some point and 3 CBs isn't enough. Especially considering that Carra's so old, Coates has zero experience and Skrtel is accident prone. Not one of our CBs is entitled to the tag 'Stalwart'. I want more Stalwarts, sign Stalwart now

I can't watch when he plays right back, centre half he isn't so bad - not first choice but a more than adequte back up.
I think he's a decent enough back up centre back, he is capable of good performances, but no matter how well he plays you always feel there is a mistake just around the corner.

With Agger's injury record, Carragher getting on, and Coates unproved at this level (at the moment), Skrtel looks likely to get alot of games.

Not sure thats the answer, has the same turning circle as Dossena.

Indeed but thankfully he didnt! I see he was hopelessly at fault for yet another goal on the weekend. I think he's a bit ****.

I agree though, we could have signed a more senior option but just saying theres not a lot we can do about that right now.

Skrtel was very good at CB last season, the problems at RB have had a knock on affect affect, we should be ok know Kelly is back.

I was never sold on Cahill last season. Never looked convincing defensively but compensated it for it by being able to play a bit.

This season he looks plain ****, bar the goal at QPR. Maybe it's the move stuff but there's no way I want us to sign him.

There's some talk of Barca wanting him.

He's a decent third or fourth choice CB, but Skrtel playing week in, week out won't take us to where we want to be.

It's so ****ing annoying that Agger is constantly injured.

We got a prognosis on Agger yet?

Think I saw in the Twitter thread earlier that LFC will have some news later today.

Agger's got a rib injury - a week or 2 at the most. The good news is that at least it's not one of his usual injuries...
Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

no but it is another injury.

he is fragile. and thats a great shame as he is one hell of a player but as i have said i think chopping and changing the defence is not helpful.

But I still hold that it is an ability to be captain of the defense and organising it as well as physcial attributes and technique when tackling etc. Or I should say a set of abilities that enables you to do so. Agger has them as well IMO, but Skrtel I don't have the greatest confidence in that respect.

I think Skrtel was good in the middle last season. Much better than many give him credit for but he is no organiser. It is a bit of a problem given Coates age and Aggers injury record. Nonetheless I might be tempted to put him as first choice just to give us a fixed point.

To my mind Carragher is probably best used at most every other game now, unless we decide to really push Coates as a first choice.
