He has been outstanding servant of this club for years but in terms of his footballing career he is finished with us unless he wants to be a squad player.

Personally I'd like to see him stay one more year as you never know what can happen with injuries but to me he needs to be 4th choice CB as Coates needs more playing time and if we want him to develop into a first team player in next couple years.
    Absolutely.

Although I am of the opinion, he will want to be considered a 'one-man-club'.

When does his current contract run out - 2013? I think he will see his contract out, accept a reduced role next season with a role tailored to the direction he wants to take his career (amongst the reserves for example), maybe some one-on-one time with Coates to aid his development and remain fourth choice, before retiring.

I think age will have made him less rash in his decisions and he's probably come to accept he doesn't have the legs anymore and will now be thinking more long term.

      Another tremendous Rafa signing.

Indeed. And with Agger being hit and miss previously (with regards to injury), we've lacked a defender to chip in with some goals - Skrtel has stepped up to the plate whilst improving defensively too.

Aye. He has put his rash tackling in control and looks like a solid player alongside Danny Agger.

I'm quite saddened byt the fact that Rafa didn't get to realise the full potential of his project. With Agger and Skrtel now performing well and Johnson and Lucas also excellent we have four of his signings performing well and other signings turning a profit.
              * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

[whisper]Yeah, very much so. Although Hyppia could also ping it, Skrtel leans back ... hopefully that'll come with time too. [/whisper]

Should Kenny give Carra a few minutes in the Carling cup final?

Not if the situation doesnt require it or the opportunity doesnt crop up. This is a cup final, not a charity match.

If we're 3-0 up with 5 mins left, then yeah. In fact, take off Gerrard and then Carra gets to lift the trophy too

If we have a comfortable lead, yes.

He said that far too recently for you to know about it.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Maybe if we're 3up and save Aggers legs for half an hour but otherwise. No

No, unless we have to. No room for sentiment when you're trying to win stuff.
