It's damning that if we need an equalizer or a winning goal with 20 minutes to go, I feel comfortable heading to bed knowing that nothing will change. I think it's only the Chelsea game when Suarez scored was I surprised in the morning.

I can see why we tried to sign Salah or Konoplyanka. They're the kind of players that will get stuck in and try something to unlock the defence or take a shot.

i know our bench is thin and its hard to find some inspiration for a last gasp winner or to make the team find the extra 10% in the final stages of a game but much of this drive needs to come from the manager.
dbf, maureen and even tony pulis have often stepped to the touchline and almost driven the players to make a super human effort. its in there, but sometimes they need that metaphorical boot up the arse to give a bit more.
rodgers is more restrained, keeps his cool, but there are times when he needs to show a bit more passion and drive, then expect the same from the players.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Spurs at home last season is the most recent late winner I can remember! The one where Vertonghen got two, Gerrard's pen won it for us.

Scored by Sturridge as a impact sub. Maybe we should play with three in midfield and leave one of Coutinho, Sterling and Sturridge on the bench from time to time.
            * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

The teams above us have game changers on the bench, that can get in fresh legs that can provide the game winners - we simply don't. They are all in the start 11. We don't have the player to make the assist or go at goal himself anywhere.
I agree, but our fringe players have barely been given a chance to make an impact this season. Chances are Rodgers hasn't seen enough in training from Aspas, Alberto, etc., to give them a fair crack, but they seem to be only making 2 minute cameos, often in games we've already won.

That Everton goal was to save a point, though, rather than a winner. I don't think we've won late in a long time. In fairness part of that seems to be down to the number of games we've won comfortably, which is no bad thing!

Yeah, we really should have gone on to win against Villa really (2-2 @ Anfield)

I guess that's the fine margin we're at the moment. I think a player like Konoplyanka or Salah would have helped turn that margin in our favour but I still think we're favourites for 4th.

We never seen to grab a late winner or equaliser in games under him. Id like to see us really go for it in the last 10 minutes - something we never seem to do. We did this regularly under Rafa, and all the good teams over the years had this ability.
Interesting you said that as I was thinking the same.

Not only we don't seem to be capable of grabbing a late winner we are not a good team if we don't score first and even then we cannot keep our lead especially when we play away.

It is lack of impact type of players in our paper-thin squad that can come on and make the difference in last 1/3 of the game, that is the main problem.

So much was said about Kolo making that terrible mistake vs WBA but we still had 25+ minutes to find the winner or more than half of hour vs Villa at home and we failed in both games as we just don't seem to have enough quality and mental stength to chase the result and turn things around.

We used to be so good at it and it's how Man Utd turned around so many games in previous years.

Out of interest, does the crowd noise rise when we need it to?

Not to mention over half the match against ten man Newcastle.

Brendan's stuck his nose in to the Laudrup sacking. Not sure why he thinks his input is relevant

Sickening stuff. Hopefully Henry has a word.

He told BBC Sport: "It's always sad when a manager loses his job - and Michael has done an excellent job - but they feel they have had to make a change," he said.
"It's a real special football club," added Rodgers. "They've made the correct decisions over a decade to get from League Two to being an established Premier League team."
Garry Monk has been put in charge in Laudrup's place and Rodgers said he had managerial potential.
"He was a wonderful captain for me - very loyal, very generous as a skipper - and I have got every confidence that, in time, he's going to be a manager.
"Gary is going to be a very good manager."

                            What a prick.

He was probably asked a direct question. His answer was more about Swansea being 'a great club' rather than a dig. If Rafa had made the same kind of comments about Liverpool, following the Dalglish sacking - I don't think it would have been a problem.
                              Another MASSIVE game

Pretty much this. He obviously still has a soft spot for Swansea, I can't see the issue.
