I took the indefinitely reference to mean that it wasn't just for a game or two games (or for any pre-planned amount). I took it to mean that as of now he considers Brad Jones to be first choice, and that Mignolet will have to fight for his place or wait for Brad Jones to go through a period of poor form before he can get back into the side. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

what we've seen with kenny is now repeating itself with rodgers to certain extent.
a clear way of playing football, a method that works and players that work perfectly in that system. what follows is major transfer **** up. we bring players in that aren't suited and aren't up to the standard required. now, you get a new manager in and you can bet it would repeat itself all over again.
you wonder how ****ing hard it is to communicate your ideas and what you're looking for in a player so that everybody's on the same page and pulls in the same direction. you wonder what exactly it is that they're doing all year long when the best thing that they could come up with are the likes of lovren and balloteli. suarez was always gonna leave so they had to be prepared yet it appears it's taken them by surprise.
everybody's to blame for this mess, henry and rodgers included.

Loosing Suarez has decimated our club far more than Rodgers ever expected imo.
Not only did he loose his goal tally (which he tried to cover by buying wingers/midfielders who could contribute goal wise) and his ability to crack open any defence and drag 3 opponents around with him allowing our other players so much room to create chances but we also lost his ability to make the whole team play way above there level' they all put in the performances of there lives every game to play up to suarez's level!
Rodgers did not see this coming imo.ps3 fanclub member#1

I'm not really goind to entertain the idea of us getting rid of Rodgers yet, although it's looking increasingly likely with the previous decisions by the owners.
I still think he deserves the season to turn it around, even if it looks frustratingly poor atm. We need reinforcements in the striker department in January to have any chance of anything this season, really desperate to have someone that can score goals. If we get that we will be okay I reckon.
I'm wondering if Rodgers & co will be focusing on EL come February because it will be the most likely way to enter the CL next season?

I agree with most of what you said, but here you get to the crux of your point. I think Rodgers maybe should stay as a number 2 tactical coach. But if he's given purse strings this January we will end up with more......Borinis, Cans, Markovics, Aspases, and of course Lamberts, Ashley Williams, Lallanas.Originally posted by vonk View PostI'm all for giving him time, he's a decent coach going through a rough patch. If we sack him we don't get the benefit of what he can learn from this. At least he's trying new things. And don't give me this Borini, Can, Markovic are the answer. No they aren't.
Basically, he's a great coach but an extremely limited talent spotter/purchaser. He is the key member of any committe we have and ultimately he can't spot a player to play his system(s). There are other flaws but they are less damning than this critical one.
So we keep Rodgers as manager - do you trust him to spend in January and then next summer? I don't anymore. I'm upset about yesterday but only because yesterday is the culmination of the last few transfer windows. Windows that Rodgers is pretty much almost directly responsible for, sadly. He's been in the boardroom for the same reason too often. This time, with regret, I've got to say: "you're fired".One tit for another.

Agreed, I jumped the gun on that one. I meant them as players that can't dig him (and us) immediately out of a hole when our key player leaves and another one is injury prone.Originally posted by Lecter View PostNot sure I would be lumping Can, Markovic & Lallana in that lot just yet
He knew the situation in May, by December we're questioning the players we bought (that includes ones that don't play just yet, i.e. Can, Markovic, Lallana). That's all on Rodgers, and its a trait that we can't afford to keep repeating. One tit for another.

I didnt see the match, only saw the highlights so really cant comment too much on match or result
I was reasonably happy he had changed the system (at least he tried something different)
Not happy that he drops Lucas and continues to play Allen
Not happy that he plays Johnson at centrehalf and continues to play Lovren
Can & Markovic need game time, Lallana again taken off and listening to a few people on here he was one of our brighter players
I'm not questioning those players yet, Lovren yes because hes been ****ing terrible in every game. The others just havent played enough and I'd argue Lallana has contributed a little
The problem at the minute is hes relying on existing players who have been here a few years or more and they just havent done it. They have not in any way shape or form warranted faith in them, yet they are continually picked and if they are dropped then its only a game or two until they are brought back into the fold to shower us in their ****e once again
I am really torn on Rodgers to sack him means we are entering the great unknown once again
However hes constantly frustrated me all season, if it isnt tactics and formations, its picking the same ****ty players who dont deserve the shirt week in week out whilst ignoring those who when they have been given a chance have probably been brighter than those he continues to stay loyal to. Then you have substitutions which at times are baffling to say the least and again never seem to reflect performance levels of the players going offBob Paisley - "This club has been my life.
