Mentioned what first? That Gerrard wishes he'd never met Rafa?

Not correct; as demonstrated by the fact that the Telegraph have now removed reference to Rafa from the sub-headingOriginally posted by Kenneth View PostEven taking the telegraph interpretation, I don't see how stating a preference for one manager (over another) implies bad blood between the two. That's what I think is overly sensitive. The bad blood bit is your own spin.
Really?

They can change what they like, it doesn't change the fact that Gerrard hates Rafa.Originally posted by Tatterdemalion View PostNot correct; as demonstrated by the fact that the Telegraph have now removed reference to Rafa from the sub-heading

I think the problem between Gerrard and Rafa is massively over exaggerated
It just wasn't a personal relationship more like a functional relationship between a boss and employee. Gerrard craves praise and a personable touch from his managers and he never got that with Rafa.
However if you think that means Gerrard doesn't respect or even hates Rafa I think you are well wide of the mark
He would have to be ****ing daft to hate the man who managed him to a Champions League win and another final. Who also bought Alonso and Masherano and Torres and played him in the position that best expressed his attacking talentsBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

He could hardly string a sentence together, eyes clearly welling up throughout....as if he'd be thinking "Ooooh I can't wait to get a little dig in at Rafa". The Telegraph's headline just fuels all this ****e. Civil war on Twitter now between people raging at his "dig at Rafa" and others who think it's ridiculous.
You'd think it was unbelievable that some could read it that way sadly that's not the case. All he's really done here is endorsed Brendan as a manager nothing more than that.

He's 34 now, he wishes he was ten years younger so he could carry on playing for Brendan. He said "I wish I was 24". The ten years ago part was just an odd way of saying that but he said he wishes he was 24 first before he phrased it the second way. Nothing in it. He just can't believe he's having to move on because he's near the end of this career and he thinks we will achieve under Brendan.

Nothing in that at all-- it makes me feel better about his discussion with Brendan because he knows it's time, believes that Brendan is a manager who can and will win things, etc. He's living in the present and is doing what's best for the club."Our legacy begets an excellence that surpasses the particulars of who produces it." -- David Carr

I am not sure I read too much either way in his comments about BrendanOriginally posted by BrooklynRed View PostNothing in that at all-- it makes me feel better about his discussion with Brendan because he knows it's time, believes that Brendan is a manager who can and will win things, etc. He's living in the present and is doing what's best for the club.Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. Originally posted by Kronenburg1892 View PostWell I read it as "I wish I was 24 again". Twice.

He says he wishes he was 24 as the conversation with Brendan at age 34 would be about how many trophies they'd won together.
He's basically saying he wishes he was young now, not that Brendan was older
