A team which is so narrow. All three midfielders seemed to be given licence to rotate/roam in the midfield. We had no shape. None of the three drifted wide when playing as the more advanced of the three to give us width. Coutinho/Firmino inclination is to come inside, so again no width with Benteke in the middle and a congestion of players behind him with a lack of space. West Ham worked out that Gomez couldn't provide that Width effectively so they almost doubled up on Clyne while leaving Gomez in space as the out ball. The amount of attacks that broke down on his side. Completely devoid of width within our setup with a striker like Benteke is criminal. It was very clever from West Ham but amateur hour from our manager not to see early what was happening. I could write loads more about problems I could see but my point is that performance was largely the system and setup which is the managers fault.
Agree, and when we managed to cross there was Benteke in the box vs. all their defenders, he had no chance. The half time sub was weird, the game was crying out for Moreno and Ings/Origi IMO.

Anyway we'll be debating this **** until he's sacked or manages top four.

I have been talking about sacking him since last december so at least I'm consistent Still, results, plurally.

Well, losing to WH 0-3 at home is terrible, no other word for it. If he fails to get a result in the next two games I think he'll have major difficulties to turn it around. BUT like I said, everything could click over the next games so I'll not be aclling outright for his head, my lingering doubt and concerns have not diminished though, IMO we just wasted this season by sticking with him, but since we did, we need to give a fair(ish) crack.
I've said barring some a Hodgson style run he's got to the end of the season. That said with the difficult run of away games we have there is alot of pressure on to get results in the home games if we get the results most people would have expected in the away games. A run of bad results in the home games (like yesterday) could produce such a Hodgson style run. Which would leave the owners with a decision to make.

Obviously I hope it doesn't happen (and I don't think it will) but the fixtures perhaps make it slightly more likely than normal.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Agreed, I'm pretty sure the owners have decided to give him until the end of the season. They wouldn't have let him spend so much money and completely change the coaching staff if he wasn't going to be given considerable time. The only thing I can see changing that is if results were so bad that the atmosphere at Anfield could become toxic and make his position untenable. I really hope that doesn't happen as while personally I don't think he is the man to take us forward I would hate to see him sacked in such a way.

Surely to god we'll look to isolate Benteke against Blind???
Smalling will no doubts be man marking Benteke

We've got a busy schedule over the next two months and I think the next seven Premiership games could determine Rodgers' fate:

            September 2015
No code has to be inserted here.October 2015
No code has to be inserted here.If we struggle - I think FSG will start looking for a replacement and Rodgers will be sacked before the new year. And I say this as a Rodgers' fan - I want him to succeed.
            Another MASSIVE game

I thought he should have gone in the summer but given the owners backing in the summer, I cannot see him being fired before December. Most likely he will see out the season.

I know it is ridiculous considering sacking him 4 games into the season but somehow I feel there is an air of inevitability around his going. I know there has been a significant overhaul over the summer, but there is still no clear vision on this style of play, balance between defense and attack etc. Most managers have variants of a clearly defined style.

I do believe he is a good young manager but the job came too soon for him. Ten years down the line, when he has a more clearer vision of how to play the game for a top club, the type of signings he wants - I believe he could potentially be a very good manager. Right now he is learning on the job, creating the impression that he is fumbling from one formation to another.

I really hope I am wrong and he succeeds here as when his teams are on form, they are exhilarating to watch.

The club is so well run that whoever manages it does well.

This exactly. Jenkins has developed an apparently bomb-proof system that imposes certain things on the manager any manager and they work within that while adding some minor style enhancements to what Jenkins wants - attractive football, played by hard workers who work for each other and are positionally disciplined within 4-3-3 based systems. The other coaching, the scouting all follow the template. Its no accident those who are now ex Swansea managers have not had that same consistency even if they have had good seasons and Jackett, Martinez, and Rodgers have had them but they've also had some pretty bad ones.

If someone offered my Klopp right now I'd take it, but I'd also have taken it at any point since december c.a. IMO Rodgers will never win a trophy or a title with us.
That's where I am with Rodgers. Losing to a poor Villa team in the FA Cup semi last season shows me he hasn't got the killer instinct when the crunch comes in big games.

If he does survive to the end of this season (and it's a big if) I'd be amazed if he starts next season as our manager.

If Rodgers gets the sack at the end of the season (not improbably) then I think we'll see a DoF and Coach setup in place.

We really need to have a long term blueprint that can survive coaching appointments.

I wonder what Klopp would make of our current players including those on loan?

I'd say he'd be fairly content in the knowledge that his Bayern team next season could smash us into little tiny bits.

He is going to have a pick of clubs soon. Most likely Mancs and Chelsea will be looking for new managers soon.
