This is football right. Not hard science (though I think Mattshark could probably make us successful by using statistics alone).
Are you implying (per Matt Shark) that Rodgers has only had a limited amount of time, and therefore his replacement can only expect the same?

In answer, the new manager will get this season with the squad he has, obviously, and if he feels in the summer that he'd like to replace certain players, he should be able to

Perhaps funds would be available for a Jan purchase or two

I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

How long do we give him? It is not like this is an overnight thing, there is an apathy to us from months of having to watch this.

You are acting like this is a knee-jerk reaction, it really isn't, this has come over a long period of time.

BTW, my understanding of it is that one of the coaches sacked last year did feel like he was thrown under the bus by Brendog to sacrifice his own skin. That's one step away from source- can pm a mod if required to verify.
      3rd place. Worst champions ever.

I'm not saying it's knee jerk. There are valid issues that I'm not disputing, but what I'm trying to argue is that football is not something that you can flip a switch to another state and expect to see results. It's a confidence thing, dealing with players, all with varying emotional states reacting differently to pressure. It's difficult to predict.

Starting again will require patience overseeing a new process. People will be disgruntled again if things don't work out. That's all I'm saying.

Sticking together through thick and thin, thought that was what we were about.

If we get a new manager it clearly won't change overnight and I'd expect teething issues for the rest of the season. But come the summer they'd be fully aware of what was needed & could give it a fair old crack next season.

Tbh I'd keep Rodgers if I thought he could get us 4th, but that's clearly not on the agenda. He's also shown through reverting already to last seasons failed 3 at the back that he has no idea what to do atm.

It's not like he's picked a new method & it's taking time. He's already admitted he got it wrong by switching so soon. Basically, a new manager will be in no worse a position. He'd come in needing to sign players, which is exactly where Rodgers did despite to mega spends in consecutive summer windows.
              Forwards.......

This club is about winning. Not patting people on the back who aren't good enough. Not even Dalglish was allowed the sentimental vote.

You do not stick with something that is not working. LFC is bigger than Brendan Rodgers. He has had more than enough time and money over the last 3 years and it just hasn't worked out.

Nobody is turning their back on him, people simply feel he is not up to the job.... which it seems he isn't. He was learning on the job at LFC & it seems he still is. We cannot afford to wait for that & bringing in a top class manager with experience in winning and competing at the highest level. A top man doesn't require babysitting or overseeing, they simply have to get the players playing well & actually have a coherent plan on how to set the team up..... neither of which Rodgers seems to able to do for quite some time now.

I'm with Maxiedge and excited about a change for whatever reason. It's the most exciting thing that'll happen this season

It's not about being sentimental. Dalglish was never a long term strategy for FSG, so he was disposed of when they thought they got their man.

It's harder to compete at this level, and especially in this league, when there is an elite 2 or 3 clubs, with way more financial power than us. We take more risks and maybe, the strategy is to give people more time, even if things don't go so well for a time. I'm convinced that the current situation is not non-reversible in the medium term.

It's all irrelevant now anyway as I think Rodgers will be gone in the next few weeks.

Why did they offer him a 3 year contract after he had a successful 6 month spell?

That suggests they were willing to offer him time, because it proved costly - to the tune of an £8million payout - to sack him after a year.

Robert Lewandowski scored more goals in 9 minutes, than the entire Liverpool squad has in 6 games in the premier league this season. that's ****ing brilliant

Was it a 3 year contract and an £8 million payout? Then maybe we should sack them.

Good snippet of his PC here if you haven't seen it.

It's a far cry from Roy Hodgson.

Sadly our performances have been very Hodgsonesque.
