New manager doesn't get to sign anyone..... do you think they'll do better with the players Rodgers had at his disposal? The transfer committee might not be all bad.

I think Klopp/Ancelotti could use the squad well, we just need organization and leadership which I think both of them can bring. We've got loads of good players.

I think Ian ayre is also thin ice. The rumours are that the relationship between all 3 parties Rodgers, Gordon and ayre wasn't strictly professional.

IMO it could be good to shake it up a bit, he's been here since H&G, I think a change would us good.

I don't think he will be sacked because of the financials but he won't be involved with the football side as much.

He isn't but his relationship with Rodgers and Gordon has divided the power structure like in the days of comolli/kenny. The same thing has happened again with the same person.

The thing that makes me doubt how much Rodgers had to do with us finishing second is that he abandoned the style of play that made us so effective. Suarez' pressing and energy was infectious and his mere presence on the pitch lifted everyone around him and as soon as he left everyone's personal performances dipped and we stopped harrying opponents. If the our title challenge had been down to Rodgers coaching then why the terminal decline as soon as Suarez was sold?

He was flexible enough to create a platform for Suarez to shine that season -- but ultimately demonstrated he wasn't quite flexible enough with his stubborn insistence on going back to his ineffectual 4-3-3 time and again.

Just seen someone on twitter post the 13/14 league table after 35 games we were 5 points clear. Just been looking at it absolutely gutted still how we blew it. It might have been all different if we'd have won that.

Players weren't attracted to the opportunity of playing under Brendan when we finished 2nd, Liverpool wouldn't have suddenly become a more desirable city to live in so how would it have been different?

Being the champions could have made a difference. We will never know but I'd like to think it might have. Maybe being champions might have shown potential targets Rodgers was capable and Liverpool were capable of winning titles.

Like I said we'll never know. Maybe being champions would have given us the edge of an Arsenal team that hadn't won the title for over a decade when signing Sanchez.

It's all buts and maybe's and I like to think it would have been different.

And as for you saying Liverpool isn't a desirable place to live is ****ing better than the **** hole Manchester down the road.

Personally I don't think it would have made any difference & in fact it may, neigh, it would have given Brendan an even bigger ego to deter any potential signings.
