I was talking to my mate about Rafa the other day. This was someone who was fairly critical towards the end of Rafa's reign. Looking back at the bigger picture he said that he would be happy to see Benitez take over again once Kenny retires.

Now before anyone starts, this is not intended as a dig at Kenny in any way. More a would you be happy to see Rafa back in charge 'one day.'

Personally I'd love to see him back at some point in the future. Love the bloke. He's one of the few 'good guys' in football in my opinion. In fact, if I could meet any celeb in the world for a pint, it would defo be him.

Depends what he does in the meantime really, if he has a failure or failures then definitely not, if he does nothing I'd be tempted and if he does great somewhere or at multiple places then for sure. But thats just looking at him as a manager.

I wouldnt like the divisive aspect that comes with him, theres way to many Arns about and way to many that hate him.

I agree with that last comment. But then the same could probably be said of every manager, bar those few who've had long term sustained success. Before his last season in charge I'd imagine 75% of us wouldn't have swapped him for anyone in the world.

I would love to have him back but there no chance of that happening even if FSG want him as our next manager in the next few years.

Everyone know the two reasons to why so I won't go into that.

Yeah he was pretty hopeless in his last season here and at Inter so two big reasons why it wont happen like you say but if he can get his head right again no reason why he shouldnt be considered depending on the circumstances. His past cv is definitely good enough providing theres no more **** ups.

Come on, that team was dismantled by the crooks in charge. I'm not saying he was perfect (I'm not Arn) but they have to take the lion's share of the blame for the bad season we had.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Of course, ive never once said otherwise! Doesnt make him immune to mistakes by default though. Which is why 99.9% of the forum were discussing who they wanted to be our next manager during the season.

****ing hell, never before have i ever encountered someone who presents idle speculation and opinion, with the kind of emphatic conviction associated with undisputable fact.

It isn't exactly speculation when Carra himself comes out with some **** like I want to be like Houllier, I love Houllier type of things. It isn't exactly speculation when some of the most believable journalists out there said that it happened. Then the speculation is very close to being facts.

The Carra, we won the CL with Houlliers squad, really takes the prize. Not the exact words but that is what he clearly meant with his mail that leaked out.

There isn't one single thing out there that points to that it is pure speculation and that it didn't happen.

Every big club have problems like that. It is called player power something you clearly don't have a clue about. Carra and Gerrard is only two of thousand of players that used player power to win a battle.

We the fans love them because they love the club and are local lads but local lads also use player power to get what they want.

If Carra hadn't been constantly throwing his body in the line of fire in Istanbul then we wouldn't have won the CL. Maybe you could try to remember that.

                                Oh Arn.

Btw, did we not win the CL with Houllier's squad? Is that close to being a fact?
