I said at the start of the season I would rather have seen Origi going out on loan as I didn't think he was ready for us to rely on him at this stage but the criticism of the lad is ridiculous.
He did nothing wrong vs Spurs, held the ball up well and brought players into the game. He set up the goal vs Kazan and was absolutely starved of any sort of service. Do I think he's good enough to be a regular starter for us? No, not yet but there is a real over reaction about his performances. He may or may not develop into a top player but judging him on two games (one of which he was good) is not right. His finishing and movement could do with some work but there are some attributes there to work with.
I would like to see him possibly going on loan in January to a premier league club, it would do him the world of good.

I agree that he needs a loan to another team, at least in a better league than the French one anyway.
The problem is that we'd be left with Sturridge and Benteke, and their injury records, especially the former, aren't exactly stellar.

Maybe Klopp will look to strengthen that area in January but yeah suddenly we look very light up top.

An inconsistent luxury with the ****e around him now, but get 2 or 3 players of the calibre we need and he can have a hell of a lot of pressure taken off him, which will allow him to thrive (once again).Originally posted by Gibbo View PostCoutinho?

Loan him out and who would have played our last two games? With Ings out, this lad will be learning on the job. Hopefully it's more as an off the bench player.Originally posted by danperkins View PostI said at the start of the season I would rather have seen Origi going out on loan as I didn't think he was ready for us to rely on him at this stage but the criticism of the lad is ridiculous.

Let's see him after Xmas and hopefully after he's got a couple of goals and a bit more confidence.Forwards.......

Well clearly nobody knew Sturridge, Benteke, Ings & Firmino would be out at the same time to be fair.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostLoan him out and who would have played our last two games? Indeed, but when we are in all those competitions and in the physically toughest league in the world, as well as now having a very demanding manager, I think we need to look at things again.Originally posted by danperkins View PostWell clearly nobody knew Sturridge, Benteke, Ings & Firmino would be out at the same time to be fair.
And I doubt any manger in the league would be rushing around to take him off our hands and give him regular games. Better served staying where he is. An extra year at Lille has done more damage than good IMO.Forwards.......

Liverpool duo Jordon Ibe and Divock Origi have been named on the 40-man shortlist for this year’s Golden Boy award.
The award, won most recently by Raheem Sterling in 2014, is voted for by journalists across the continent to determine Europe’s best young player aged under 21."I will make the boys feel your support"

When I watch Origi at the game his movement doest send out signals of a striker at all. He seems to move more like a winger or someone playing off a target man (which is weird). I don't know if it captures it on TV but he always drifts off to the right or left hand side when thr ball is in the final third as if to make room for a striker to move into the space or box. But there is no striker.
I'd like to see him play with another striker just to see what he's like. I don't think he has done anything majorly wrong when he has played as the service and build up play was shocking. However whilst saying that I don't think he has "it" and I would be tempted to ship him off whilst he has a bit of value.

Said it before but I think Origi hides. It's easy to hide up front - make it look like you're trying, and making runs, but deliberately move into spaces where you know you're unlikely to get the ball. You can say "well I tried but I didn't get the service". No confident striker takes up the positions, and shuns moving into optimum positions, like he does. He hardly ever makes himself available for the obvious killer pass. He wouldn't normally do this IMO. Course he's not the first striker to hide due to a lack of confidence, happens all the time. I just think he's terrified of making a mistake - of getting on the ball and giving it away or ****ing up somehow....so it's hard to judge his abilities when his confidence is so low. He looks absolutely ****, but confidence is such a big deal in sport and there's no way he can be as bad as he looks. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
