I don't understand why people are still surprised by him letting players in at this back post. He's been doing it from day dot."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah
"looking through your posts since 2007 and what you have consistently written about my football team I have come to the conclusion that if you had 1 more brain cell you would be a plant .. your father was a hamster and your mother smells of elder berries, I fart in your general direction ..." Nicey

You can look at a scapegoat for today but no one really was guilty for us losing. We’ve played well enough to win it.
He put in one or two good balls too that werent capitalised on
I think our players just need a nice relaxing holiday now at this stage

That part of his game is an ongoing concern in my view. There was nothing special about that back post run, not one time did Trent check his shoulder and then never attacked a very basic ball. It was terrible.Originally posted by Harv View PostI don't understand why people are still surprised by him letting players in at this back post. He's been doing it from day dot.

It wasn't great, yes, but the way we play with our press means that we are vulnerable to exactly that. If you lose the ball up the pitch and don't win it back straight away your at risk of a quick punt up the wing with your full-back out of position. It's the price you pay in a way. There's a reason RM scored against us taking advantage of that and a reason that teams target the wings in that way, particularly on the right.Originally Posted by wiw

It is, pretty clear what it means, but you and some choose to see it in the lens that he cost us the game when Ali had nearly **** nothing to do all game and their keeper was man of the match.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostConceding the losing goal isn’t what lost us the game
Clearly, not taking chances was a factor, but so was Trent’s lack of positional awareness. It’s not a single answer question.
Are we winning?

I'm not convinced it wasn't a terrible shot to be honest. I just think it is harsh to single out Trent.Originally posted by kemm1 View PostWhat about it? Yes, they had a break but the cross was simple, the run was simple and should have been easily defended for a player playing at that level.

Less worried about his defending prowess... my biggest concern has been the drop off in assists from both him and Robbo. Earlier in the season they were both bombing on and getting whipped in crosses for front three to bury. Might just be personal perception but they both seem to have lost that spark and ability to beat a man, get chalk dust on their boots and hit a cracking cross into a red shirt.
Corners are always hitting the first man or lashed and overhit...
They both need a proper rest over summer as they can't maintain such mid-boggling high standards week in week out over 63 games a season...

There is a reason why Trent is targeted, well two reasons. Firstly because he plays so high up the pitch & secondly because he isn't the greatest defender. He produces so much to our output though that I'm good with that trade off. We all said it, that ball behind Trent or between Trent & CB was the one they would try and they did, teams have been trying it all season. Konate was selected for his pace to cover for Trent and he did several times and bounced Vinicius around the place. Trent isn't the fastest guy but he's also no slouch, he has looked exhausted for several games and heavy legged when crossing too. The goal was an error from Trent, he switched off and didn't see the man running behind him and it has cost us unfortunately. He's a brilliant player that has been over played.
