WTF are you on about? Do you expect me to comment on every word you type?
I quoted the whole of your text, what more do you want?

To all the Owen lovers, please answer one simple question:

Why hasn't any team, home or abroad, made any attempt to meet the clause in his contract?

Becuase who in their right might, would risk such a sum AT THIS PARTICULAR MOMENT in time, given they can

          1) pick him up in Jan 08 (if / when he proves his fitness in the early part of this season)
          2) pick him up next summer (when his release clause is likely to be even lower due to amortisation of his contract)

£9m is a great price but only for:

a player whose return to complete fitness is evdient
a player who may demonstarte his ability to score goals (if he still can post-injury) in the interim period
a player who's price will be even lower next summer

So you wouldn't have bought him this summer?

As you would expect - he had a young family to look after and a future to think about. in his shoes at RM, I'd do the same, if I had no signal from LFC that they were prepared to pay the market rate.
Although Parry and Houllier dropped a serious bollock by letting Owen run down his contract, especially having vowed to never let it happen again after McManaman, it cannot be alleged that they had anything to gain personally from Owen leaving Liverpool. They always acted in the best interests of the club.

If Owen wanted to act in the interests of the club, he would have signed a new contract and stayed/put in a transfer request anyway.

As I said before, I don't hold his transfer to Newcastle against him. He put country before club - nothing new there.
It's not good because it's rude. It's good because it looks like it's good because it's rude.

What I didn't like was that Owen said that he would stay if we got into the Champions League. We got in and then went back on his word and left.

Maybe next year if he proves his fitness. Is it true that if Newcastle don't get into Europe next year, his buyout clause is 6m?

I didn't say it was hard, but any of us would get as much from our employer as we can over the time we work for them. The lad is no different. Yes, he may have been naive leaving think the grass was greener, and not giving Rafa a chance. But once he went, the route back was never going to be solely in his hands.

I think even he would agree with that now. That's where I think the mistake was, not him "sitting tight" in 2005 playing "hardball" with RM.

Who cares? He's not worth 6 Ugandan dollars.

Agreed. I dont blame him after R.Madrid. It's just the way he left which left a bitter taste in my mouth.

If he's scoring goals he is. He's still a world class finisher

It'll be £6m just due to market value, due to the fact his contract will have so little left to run (1 year). He'll be 3 years into a 4-year deal, and 4 years older than when he left us in similar circumstances for £8-10m. If he's worth £9m now, it'll be £6m nerxt summer, no dount, assuming he doesn't sign another deal there.
