I think it was quite astute of the manager. He gave him his chance because he knows he's a fans favourite. He wasn't great vs Southampton was he? He can now move him on with few complaints.Originally posted by Liverpool View Postalso to go from starting eleven in the first game of the season to ****ed off a week later is pretty madI have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

If they're interested we should ask for £6m and be done with itOriginally posted by Leyton388 View PostThey can **** off with a loan. I'd rather have him as a squad player than loan him out. Typical tight Italian team. No doubt he'll be back here next season after they refuse to pay the £10m and try to offer £4m

Lot of question marks over Lucas, I doubt anyone will want to take him on permanent deal until he proves himself. Loan deals are part and parcel of the transfer system, we took Moses and Cissokho last season, they were ****, we ****ed them off. No need to get upset about these sort of things.Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

No benefit whatsoever in a loan deal, the Italians won't cough up for him, have we not learnt from past experiences when dealing with these clubs? Aqualani should be a prime example.
Keep him as a squad player, he can do a very good job and could be invaluable in some of the trickier away games in Europe. Unless we get a bloody good offer to buy him outright then it's a no from meKurtangled in the McFadden thread 16/01/08

It's sometimes what's right for the player as well. I'm sure BR and Lucas have discussed playing opportunities and where he sees him fitting in this season and for the money and in likelihood very limited game time this is probably the best deal we can get for him and us at the moment.
Hope he does well over there and should do with the league being so much slower

I know a lot of people have written Lucas off since he has come back, but he has had a rough few years with injuries, and maybe he won't be the same player again, if we are to ever find out he is going to need games, and he won't get them here. A loan move could be a sensible option assuming Brendan doesn't think we need the extra midfielder this year. Given what has happened in the past with these types of loan deals (Reina, Aquilani) I don't think that this is the way to go if we are looking to move him on permanently. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Just move him on for a reasonable fee
