That's a rather ambiguous headline! Once upon a time quite a lot of people on here were really looking forward to Lucas being part of the club's history too.

Reason: Too dry. Thought I'd try to lighten up my posting style, see if it works, etc.
. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

That article is a bit daft. To say that it was Lucas's persistence that made him in to the player he is is wrong, it was Rafa's insistence on persevering with him. One way or another, I'm glad he did
What I was trying to say was that it was implying that Lucas had a say in whether or not he was going to succeed, ie that he persevered at the club. What I was questioning was that Lucas's perseverance had anything to do with it. If the player's good enough, he'll succeed. The only person who the word perseverance could be used in conjunction with Lucas would be Rafa. Rafa did persevere with him, despite some journalists and fans thinking this was wrong, but had Rafa not persevered then we wouldn't be seeing the player we are now. Lucas basically did as he was told and played each week.
With all the will in the world, had Rafa not played Lucas then 'perseverance' on Lucas's part wouldn't have made an ounce of difference because it's the manager who chooses the team. Rafa showed the guts in playing a player who he could see potential in and ignored any criticism that Lucas received. Lucas didn't show any bravery in ignoring the criticism, he just carried on playing when picked.
Does that make more sense now? Like I said, regardless of how we got where we are today, I'm glad that Rafa did persevere with Lucas because he's a world beater
He also made the most tackles in the top 4 European leagues in the 2010-2011 season.
That's from Wikipedia...
He has become some player. I'd go as far as saying one of the best holding midfield players in the world, easily in the Top 10. Anderson and Mascherano can go suck balls

That will be doubled this year playing alongside Adam.
Still, he's bound to give a foul or two away soon so people can take pleasure complaining that he gives away to many free-kicks.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I was never a fan but that changed last season. I wanted him out. I always said he and Mascherano could never play in the starting XI. But once that **** left, I knew this would be it for Lucas. He has made the role his own so much so that when Gerrard played his position when he was suspended a couple of weeks ago, Gerrard had nothing on Lucas. Thats when I realised how much we would miss him if he was ever sold or whatever. And the number of stupid free kicks he gives away has gone way down. Charlie Adam could learn a thing or two from him.
I would say he (brace yourselves, this is a big statement coming up), he has or is coming close to becoming a better player than Hamann was for us. Hamann is one of my favourite LFC players of all time

People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.
