Thanjk you.

How are you judging it not being handled well though by him not agreeing to sign a contract?
Yes it could set us back if he leaves I completely agree but to be concerned about something you know nothing about seems a waste for concern
From my POV it seems we are tryingto get them on the cheap, it is also careless to let him reach the final 16 months, it could be interpreted as arrogance of our half. This just my opinion dont you work up any concerns about that
* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.
You assume we're trying to get the best deal for the club which is what the guys negotiating contexts should be doing. Happy with that rather than "How much do you want Jordan ?" "£120k, yeah no problem here you go".

Do you feel,if true, 80 k is fair compared to others and that Hendo cant get 50% more elsewhere?
Also a bit silly to say this, I never said give him what he wants, just market, when he reaches 12 months his position gets stronger by the month too.

It's negotiation Im sure he might be able to get that money elsewhere but it's not just about the actual number it's how it's structured the length of the deal and there could be things like image rights, bonuses and all other manner of things we want in or he wants in or out
Contracts are complex things and take time, granted it's been run a little short but Its not as black and white of simply the money on offer IMO

I am aware of that, there is just smoke and I think it is perfectly natural to have a debate about this.

Latest tweet from a well-informed poster who is close to the club:
"#LFC reportedly faces a major struggle to keep Henderson at Anfield after the midfielder rejected the club's latest offer."
You don't mean that 'Billy Liddell' character do you?

So our next Captain and leader is only being offered £80k a week when Sterling is in talks for over £100k a week? I can see why he would knock it back as it's a little insulting. He's 24 so this next contract is going to be his big one. I thought the whole point of buying these players young and developing them in to top class talents was to be able to pay them the top whack salary when they come good.
It's time the club lived up to their end of the bargain. It seems that Liverpool don't seem to be interested in paying players over £100k a week. As when Stevie leaves I don't think there will be anyone on over £100k.
FSG slashed the wage bill and got rid of big earners and rightly so but it's time the reinvested that money into the young players they have bought and developed as what is the point of all they are going to do is offer low wages a d the players move to another club for more money and we get next to nothing when their contracts run down.
Imagine the reaction if Henderson and Sterling leave for pennies.

Do we have any reliable evidence for those numbers?
Even if we did a big question is what is the money for. A lot of the time there are negotiations about image rights etc. involved - my guess is that hyped supposed proto-superstars like Sterling have much greater earning capabilities than Henderson.
Like Rich says contracts are complicated and their structure is important. Hopefully by taking time and negotiating well we'll end up with good solutions everyone is happy with rather than sop gaps that please no one long term.

Maybe the plan is to sell these players when the contracts get above a certain amount. Buy again and repeat. Would be depressing if so. Nah I won't entertain it.

It's probably been said elsewhere but I think all of these impasses with regard to contracts are about the new tv deal. A lot of these early negotiations took place before the size of the new deal was announced. Agents are basically tearing up the early work and rewriting their expectations. The clubs themselves are also having to factor this in but they are taking more time to adjust which is understandable because they will be dishing out the money. I expect all of these to be resolved shortly. No way does hendo want to leave Liverpool. He has developed tremendously. He is loved and appreciated by the fans and he can see we are the coming force of English football playing the most attractive, entertaining and winning football anywhere.
