Not to mention he is the hardest looking mentalist around

I dont think I have seen a better clearance by a defender ever. It was brilliant.

Must scare the **** out of strikers seeing Skrtel and Agger together at the back. They are both solid. Vinnie Jones vs Skrtel in a fight. It'd be close.

Never a penalty. Should've smashed Gheko in the face.

i have been critical of his performances over the last two seasons but he really has shown what he can do this season. he is rightly keeping his place ahead of carra and forming a good pairing with agger. if only one of them was a threat at a corner

In fairness Skrtel has 2 goals in about 20 games this season, if he carried on that record for the rest of the season and finished with 5 that would be a decent return for a centre back.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Makes you yearn for Sami at his peak, though.

I may be wrong but I don't think Sami ever got more than 5 goals a season for us, and he would often be playing 50+ games a season. I'd say that a goal every 10-12 games would be a good scoring record for a centre back

Looking at the stats, you're right. It must have just seemed like he scored a lot more because the one's that he did score were often vital and usually memorable.

I think he scored in every CL quarter final he played for us
