Thanjk you.

I speak from personal and a very painful experience about the dangers of having open spaces in the fullback positions without winning the midfield battle and especially scooping up all lose balls.
I coach under 11's and I changed our formation from being based on rafas 4231 to rogers 433 and high fullbacks up the pitch. First 2 games went along fine with 20 goals scored and 1 against. Then we played the best team in the entire competition.
We got battered. Every time they won the second balls in midfield they turned our back line with a ball over the top. Every time they stopped our attacks we were wide open for the counter down our flanks.
It just didnt work against the better sides.
In rafas champions league dreams book he constantly highlights attacking fullbacks as a weakness in the opposition with all the space they leave in behind. Everybody should read this book because its a masterclass.
I think our manager should read it too.
Really? You'd have thought you might have mentioned it before...
I love how as a coach of kids, you focus heavily on tactics and keeping possession, yet on here you were one of the harshest critics of one of our most tactically aware and best passers in Lucas.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
Sense we are now in a key period in LFC's season. For perhaps the first time, we have just seen a really poor performance from the squad players, some strong words from Brenda about some of the players, and some desperate words about the need to buy.
What we most need now are some wins, however ugly.
Words mean **** all if we don't have the squad to back it up. The owners said they have the resources to compete with anyone. Well prove it in january and next summer.

i hold up my hand and say that i wasnt his biggest fan and i did give him some stick which again i feel bad for because he is probably one of the top DM's in world football today. Just shows what a strong character he is because he's probably amongst the first three names on the teamsheet.
But as you get older and more experienced in coaching you realise that younger player especially youth ones cannot be expected to perform to premiership standards week in week out. You also realise your own mistakes and try to correct them because we're talking about players feelings and emotions. At that age its not a profession but a hobby.
We expect so much of players like sterling, wisdom and shelvey who are all still very young even at 18 or whatever. They're ready to play but not ready to take on fans' expectations.
Thats the problem but yes like every other liverpool fan i want the team to win every single match and wipe the floor with the opposition. But thats not the attitude you can afford to have in youth development.
I wont mention youth football again this year.

So we all know we need to buy reinforcements in January how much do people feel Brendan will be given, for me we need at least 3 players , 2 strikers and a fullback , not sure if right or left depends on where Johnson is going to play
Newcastle is a huge game we need 3 points after been robbed against Everton since our next game is away to Chelsea

That is not what they said.
There was one quote from Werner I believe, talking about, in the context of FFP being applied to the letter, that we as a club can generate the revenue to compete at the top level.
Which is completely true, we're still in the top 10 of European clubs in terms of revenues despite not having won our domestic league for 2 decades and not having been in the CL for 3 seasons now. If FFP is applied properly, and we continue being run well with waste on useless players like Joe Cole being eliminated, then we certainly will have the resources to compete with anyone.
What he said however absolutely did not mean that FSG are going to try to compete clubs like Chelsea, PSG and City who are not complying with FFP properly and are spending money they aren't earning but is coming from other sources. Anyone who is expecting our owners to fork out mega-money from their own pockets on the basis of that statement is massively misinterpreting things imo.

I think this is the first must win game, we've have been patient so far. The tenth league game of the season and we've won two games. It's been poor, but there has definitely been some improvement in performance. The improvement needs to translate into points or I think the goodwill of the fans will change. It's okay saying that a manager deserves a season or more, but we had a decent team and squad before Rodgers took over - we should be showing signs of becoming a strong team now. The tactics should be working and we should start to pick up more wins now.
If we don't win this game tomorrow I reckon people will start turning against Rodgers.
I disagree, we don't have the luxury of numbers of seasons before impatience kicks in. I guarantee if we don't win games sharpish things will turn against Rodgers. He's had it easy so far.
