    No its not

I think you were thinking of this quote:

"The thing is though, no-one's dispensable in my book, because we're like one big organism, one big animal. The guys upstairs on the phones, they're like the mouth. The guys down here, the hands."

    "What does that make you"

" Good question. Probably the Humor"

I think i'm done with him. Again. We've won 1 of our last 5 league games and have looked **** all season, even when we were winning.

Its as much of a risk giving him another season than it would be to bring somebody new in, and if there was even a chance of Klopp coming, then FSG should go all out for him.

Thats the main point for me

However I still can't see FSG sacking him - as much as I'm warming to the idea of a change

he has hardly inspired a do or die attitude into this team.
I think we are basically back to the position we were in before the switch to 3-4-2-1. When we had the first choice players for that formation we were able to counter act our lack of goal threat with a solid defense and the ability to attack from a wide range of unexpected areas. Currently we look like we are patching together teams where vital components are missing.

Without a striker we can rely on we always look flat. I don't think it is so much an attitude as an issues with tactics and personnel.

Overall I don't think my opinion has changed a great deal about Rodgers since mid-season. He's done enough to deserve more of a chance but I still have (quite serious) doubts about him.

With Sterling, Coutinho, Henderson, Can, Sakho, Sturridge and Lallana. 2 excelltent first team ready players should have us back near the challange again IMO.

BR proved last season he can get the team playing well. His credit with me is waning though. A few more losses this season and he might be done.
Coutinho is class, sterling doesn't want to be here, Henderson is good alongside two better midfielders, sakho is great but picks up a fair few injuries, Can not sure, Sturridge is ****ing pointless, lallana is a good sqaddie maybe a starter when we have better players alongside. Squad is pretty dire to be honest.

At the end of the summer out of our current players we'll have Sturridge on more than 100k a week.
How many players do each of Utd, City, Arsenal and Chelsea have on more than 100k?

If you pay average (PL wise) wages you'll get average or promising players.
                  Simple as that.

Either the 'model' has to change i.e only buying promising players or we're going to have ups and downs as the team (and manager) are learning on the job

I don't know for this year, but Liverpool had the fifth highest wage bill last season.

I don't think the squad is dire, there are some positions that need to be sorted out that's for sure but it's far from being dire. We've lacked IMO two key positions all season 1) a defence midfielder or deep lying midfielder and 2) a reliable striker.

Sterling might well be off this Summer but we'll also bring in players as well. Regardless of the system used though we need goals simple as that and this season we've failed to provide them hence not being in the running for the top 4 - if we'd had a goal scorer available throughout the season we'd be in it IMO

Depending on how you want to set up.

I think it's terrible tbh. Coutinho, Sterling, Skrtel, Ibe, Can, Sturridge and Henderson I'd keep. I wouldn't miss any of the rest.

I'd keep Sahko and Lucas without any doubt. I wouldn't be too bothered if we sold Sterling.

I say back the manager , the side he built last season was brilliant to watch and based around two superb attacking players , for obvious reasons hasn't happened this year ,

Spend money on a proper striker , smash teams to pieces again , lets enjoy football again ,

BUT I think Brendan needs to look at his big game mentality as this season every time we play one we come up short , one result against United at home and 4th would still be on even with how **** we have been lately

Depends, I don't think Rodgers will do anything of note with those players, probably sell Lucas and Sakho tbh.

Bur if Rafa came in, I could see him adding a defensive or a holding midfielder, using Coutinho in the Aimar role and getting another striker in. I'd trust him to build on that, might need another fullback as well though.
                              * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

I said this in the match thread. It was glaringly obvious, particularly during this Hull game, that, although we have a squad of good players, we don't have enough special talent. I actually said it at the start of the season that I was worried that we just don't have enough goals in us. Sterling and Coutinho are good attackers but they're not at that level where they can be relied upon week in, week out. For me, they're cogs in the system but we're really missing the mechanism that turns the cogs. Last season, that was Suarez, seasons before, Gerrard, Torres etc...

So what you got last night, was poor opposition in Hull, but as long as they did the basics right, we weren't able to break them down. It's just become a case of waiting for a Coutinho special or Sterling actually getting a good contact with a shot. I just don't see where else the goals will come from in this side. Can't even really on Sturridge anymore.

We've scored, brazenly rounding it off, about a third of the goals we did last season. A third?! That's a HUGE difference.
