Barrett has certainly changed his tune in his recent article. I would love to be a fly on the wall in Rodgers impending meeting. He's got some explaining to do to win back fsg's trust going by the article. I think everything points towards a change in the player recruitment structure. I can see Rodgers being told a dof will be appointed and he will no longer have anything to do with player recruitment. If he can buy into the new structure (let's not forget he himself said he didn't want to work with a dof) he will keep his job, if not I expect an announcement that he has agreed to leave by mutual consent.

It looks like he is being briefed from both sides now. It is playing out in the press. Rodgers may have a justification for his side of the argument if he can point to a track record of signing quality players. He points out Williams and Bertrand. Williams would have been better than Lovren but still not good enough.

Bertrand - fair enough. Though I think if Bertrand had come here and Moreno had gone to Southampton there is every chance Bertrand wouldn't have looked that impressive with him playing at 3-4 systems throughout the year.

My issue with this that if we are changing the transfer system, recruiting people now (DoF) it is already too late for this summer, we should have already identified our transfer targets and be getting things ready to put in offers.

My fear is that regardless of who the manager is and who is in charge of transfers come July we could still have a horrible transfer window because all the build up work has been done by the old system (transfer committee) or if has been done by the new guy has been somewhat rushed through.

If we wanted a DoF he should have been appointed before now if he is to have any impact this summer.

When you consider what he's had to contend with with regard to sterling, I think he does deserve another crack. Sterling hasn't been half the player of last year because he's been distracted by off field stuff. This must of affected us.

I would be very happy to give Rodgers another season. I have said it countless times, you put a couple of decent strikers into that squad and we easily make top 3. I am not convinced by any of the clubs above us, with the exception of perhaps Chelsea. We need to get it right this summer. I think Rodgers given enough time can deliver the title
