Nothing to do with Rodgers being media savvy. More to do with him having some credit in the bank and he hasn't (yet) got us in a relegation scrap in January like Hodgson did.

That's it yeah, balance would mean the things you say are correct and balanced... which they are not mate.Originally posted by Fredo View PostYeah possibly. I'm just not as obsessed to call for his head like you for instance, who's probably posting it 1000 times a day and still isn't sick of saying it after the 1001th time.
Our current state of play is bad. What's more to add to it?
At least I'm trying to bring about some balance in here.

As ludicrous as it sounds and many might not agree with this, the owners are actually showing something which is a real rarity in today's cutthroat world of modern football and that is loyalty.
I recall not so long back it was something we were famed for as fans. Yes four years as Manager is maybe a bit too long especially for someone who's not won anything whilst in charge but still, they've shown a tremendous amount of loyalty to Rodgers. Either that or blind faith.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

And that "nearly winning the league, scoring hundreds of goals, thousands greeting the coach every week" thing, to be fair. That has a lot to do with it too.Originally posted by Lecter View Post
There's a few reasons for this. The fans didn't like Roy one iota and Rodgers is more media savvy
That's the tragic thing. He came in with possession based fundamentalism, tweaked it to an exciting form of pressing attacking football, and last season and this has gone for mediocre toothless ****, neither focused enough on attack to be threatening nor focused enough on defence to be solid. Directionless.Originally posted by Lecter View PostWe are directionless and clueless more than anything

No. I'd hate to get on the back of our manager unless he deserved it. Hodgson deserved it because he was a ****. Rodgers deserves a bit more respect.Originally posted by danperkins View PostThat's it yeah, balance would mean the things you say are correct and balanced... which they are not mate.

We have better players cos we spent £200m more.Originally posted by Fredo View PostStatistically maybe, but it's not. We have better players and are at least trying to play our way. We never did that under Hodgson.
Rogers has no consistent & discernible game plan. There is no "our way", being ****ing ****e aside.3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Rodgers had to hit the ground running this seasonOriginally posted by Chris View PostNothing to do with Rodgers being media savvy. More to do with him having some credit in the bank and he hasn't (yet) got us in a relegation scrap in January like Hodgson did.
He was shedding credit with the bank faster than Nick Gleeson backend of last season
The fans wanted Roy out after the derby and his comments post match. The subsequent results pushed that too the precipice
I think most of the fans are at or even beyond the Roy derby moment but we aren't seeing anywhere near the pressure from the media yet
We haven't see the media yet saying how is he serving up this **** after spending £200m. This is why I think he's savvy
To me this is far worse than Roy because of the money spent for what he's deliveringLast edited by Lecter; 23-09-15, 11:52 PM.Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Sorry Slinks, i totally understand you wanting to see the positives.
I just see them as being hard nosed money men, it's all about the timing for them if results are bad, not the loyalty. Just my opinion though.Last edited by Vermilion; 23-09-15, 11:54 PM.

Nope. You are correct.Originally posted by Slinky Skills View PostThat's true.

Bodgson was the remnant of the previous regime and given we were lurking near the relegation zone, they had no other option than to appoint King Kenny as a caretaker. Once he did well the second half of the season, they again had no other option but to give him the job full time. They would have faced fan revolt if King Kenny was removed the previous summer and someone like Rodgers was appointed. Their hands were tied.
Rodgers was their first appointment vetted through their "system" and fitted their vision. That is one of the reason why he is getting so much patience.
In a way the patience they have shown might be attractive to managers like Ancelotti.

His past 19 games are relegation form. He's just lucky a summer was in between it.Originally posted by Chris View PostNothing to do with Rodgers being media savvy. More to do with him having some credit in the bank and he hasn't (yet) got us in a relegation scrap in January like Hodgson did.
1-1 v a promoted side.
1-1 to a team midtable in France who tonight lost 7-1.
1-1 with a team in England's bottom division.
And this is our side on a come back. We have changed to 3 at the back and got those three amazing results. Prior to that we lost 3-0 at home and 3-1 away to United and we were awful in both.
Our great start? A late Coutinho howitzer when prior to that Stoke had the better chances. We beat a newly promoted side thanks to an offside goal after they'd been unlucky to have one ruled out themselves. A good 45 against an Arsenal side missing most their defence and when they'd figured it out we hung on for dear life.
We are not looking like we are going to offer up anything special anytime soon. Villa love playing at Anfiekd and will fancy it. Basel showed that the Swiss side Sion have nothing to fear.
Martinez will be praying Rodgers is still in charge when we travel to Goodison.Forwards.......

Mate no manager is bigger than the club. The team has not progressed, we have no identity, no guts, the play is lethargic and aimless, the tactics, formation & setup are guess work and baffling, signings have been awful & the players don't seem to want to play for him anyways.Originally posted by Fredo View PostNo. I'd hate to get on the back of our manager unless he deserved it. A managers job is too get the best of out his players, he clearly hasn't done that for quite awhile, therefore he is failing at his job. He was blessed to not be sacked at the end of last season. What we have been served up this season is an embarrassment to Liverpool F.C.
