But I sometimes feel that if your side isn't that great, you're best of leaving Gerrard out as he creates an imbalance.

But why would you leave one of your better players out if the side is struggling? It's a very difficult situation. Ideally Sturridge will prove to be the messiah, he'll bang the goals in, get a song and be the new darling of the Kop as we turn it around. That would get Stevie to sit again and it'd be far nicer to see Stevie playing out his days as a composed holding player as opposed to one running all over the park to try and make things happen when he's no longer physically capable.
I agree with a lot of that especially the first paragraph
Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Blimey, nobody has posted in this thread since early November.

      Anyhow:

FORMER Manchester United and Everton boss David Moyes is plotting a shock loan swoop for Liverpool midfield Emre Can.

The Real Sociedad manager is keen to raid the Premier League for any available talent, and according to reports in Spain, Moyes wants Can to join him for the remainder of the season.

Liverpool signed the German from Bayer Leverkusen during the summer, and although he found the back of the net against Chelsea this season, Can has failed to make much of an impact for Brendan Rodgers' side.

The Reds are looking to land Lazio midfielder Ogenyi Onazi, and Rodgers is open to the prospect of letting Can leave in order to speed up his development.

Moyes is also keeping an eye on Red Devils starlet Adnan Januzaj, and could make an enquiry for the youngster when the January transfer window opens.

        Go away David!

How would letting our young talent play for Moyes speed up their development? Regress it more like!

No chance if Lucas is off to Inter.

**** off Moyes you clueless ****, loaning him Can is the equivalent of giving Jimmy Saville a teaching post in a primary school

                No chance he moves on.

A player signed in the summer will almost always improve as the season goes on. I expect big things from him in the second half of the season.

Like Hyypia, Hamann, Gerrard and Alonso rolled in to one.

He's another one who just 'gets' football. Whichever position you put him in.

He's gone up from being a useful footballer to my next £40m+ player (after Coutinho).

Another string in his bow being able to play as a CB. Did really well today & am pleased for him.

He's played CB a lot before too. Its not a new position to him. It does seem to be a wasted position at the moment though.

However, he could easily become the next Thiago Silva if he wants to work at that position. Up to him really.

Big fan of Can.. everytime he has come into the team he has performed very well. Looks made for that RCB position. Great shout from Rodgers to play him there, hopefully Rodgers doesn't revert to type.
