I don't think we can read anything into that. He still follows a lot of people associated with the club. He did have an issue with the company which was working as a marketing agency for him at the end of the season and this could be related.

It's totally speculative at the moment.
    Are we winning?

Nah, first day back at training yesterday - I reckon he was told we're selling him.

We really should be to be fair. He's clearly not the player he was and the player he is isn't good enough for us.

Its a shame, but he's never managed to rediscover his pre-injury form.

And whilst he would make a good squad player, I would imagine he'll be on a reasonably hefty wage and so it probably makes financial sense to offload him.

Besides, we've already signed his replacement in Emre Can.

I guess it's best for both parties though.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I thought we were better off selling him, but this has made me sad now, I really liked him. Good luck.

He's miles down the pecking order now, so realistically how many games would be play next year? A couple of FA and League cup matches? Best to move on.

Worse than that, I'll have to think of a new FF team name.

Would be a real shame to see Lucas go.

Think it might be a preseason too soon, unless of course Brendan has his incoming midfield plans in order and Lucas has fallen out of favour.
He has experience, he's a very popular member if the squad, Gerrard is not going to play every game and we're always one injury/suspension away from lacking options down the mid. Can may or may not settle into our midfield, but it's clear that Rodgers values energy in the midfield, Gerrard QB position aside, so Lucas' type isn't the goto midfielder that Brendan wants.

He's struggled to regain the form post-injury, but it's always hard to fit back in mid season, especially given the cavalier form our team had adopted last season. Preseason may have given him that opportunity.
Unless it's an offer too good to turn down, as Lucas wouldn't be skint in wages, it's a sale that warrants caution.

                            I agree.

I'm a bit wary of too much upheaval.

We've just missed out on the title by a fag paper really. You could argue we're going into the 2nd year of what might've been a 3-4 year cycle. Yet it's being torn up to a certain extent. Looks like we'll sign around 7 new players and will let plenty go.

People *are* too hung up on Spurs' **** up last summer...do people expect us to not spend the Suarez money? But at the same time I am wary of such enormous upheaval when it could be argued all we needed was a little tinkering to add to what was a title-challenging side.

I guess the biggest factor is Suarez leaving, and it almost demands upheaval and numerous replacements since he can't be replaced directly.

I hope we keep him - too much squad turn over is a real danger for us this summer. If he gets back to his best he is a big asset, particularly as we may have to adapt and adopt a more defensive approach at times without Suarez.

When Spurs fired AVB I think he was actually a couple of points better off than the year before. The will improve again this season if they stick with MP.
