80 grand pw IMO is mad money in any walk but considering the standard in the premier league I reckon Hendo wants a wee bit ore than that & he's probably right.

When Gerrad leaves, and going on the figures we've been hearing about these negotiations for players.
Would it be right to say, that barring any signings of superstars on mega wages, then our best players....our highest earning players...would be on around 70/90 grand p/w ?
Which seems incredible.
Mario would have to leave ( can hear MrM cheering now
) i suppose for that to be the case, oh! Sturridge, he'll be on more than 100k wont he.
When i think about clubs like City and the wages they pay!
250k pw just sounds wrong! 100k pw does too, but maybe a bit less so.

He is very likely to become captain though.Originally posted by Boogar View PostHe's not captain.
It's a negotiation between the club and the player/agent. A new tv contract worth millions has been announced and the agents are getting the best deal for their clients. These things take time. I really don't see the need to have a go at anyone until the player emptying his locker as we don't know what is going on.
If they are planning on offering him the role full time he should be paid to reflect it, in my opinion. He may well wait to find out before negotiations go further but I think in the current climate £80k/w is on the low side for a captain of a team aspiring to be CL regulars.Vive la France

I don't think anyone is having a go at anyone, but I think it's perfectly reasonable to be concerned about these things. If not handled well it can set us back.Originally posted by Boogar View PostHe's not captain.

How are you judging it not being handled well though by him not agreeing to sign a contract?Originally posted by The_weatherman View PostI don't think anyone is having a go at anyone, but I think it's perfectly reasonable to be concerned about these things. If not handled well it can set us back.
Yes it could set us back if he leaves I completely agree but to be concerned about something you know nothing about seems a waste for concernGo **** yourself
