He has so far yes, it's still just one half of one season gone though.Originally posted by el matador View PostEveryone thought Rodgers had taken Swansea as far as they could go but laudrup has taken them to a higher level.
We've seen such things before in the Premiership, but time will tell who the better manager is.
Today has brought everyones frustrations and doubts rushing back.

Its a very bad result against a struggling team. Yet somehow we managed to **** it up beyond imagination and ended up looking like a pub side.
Were not well organised and it looks slightly amateurish.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

That is bollocks. It was a poor result but we massively outplayed Villa.Originally posted by el matador View PostIts a very bad result against a struggling team. Yet somehow we managed to **** it up beyond imagination and ended up looking like a pub side.

We also had the vast majority of the attacking play and made many more chances. Our issue comes from the low quality of chances week often make, with our lack of player who score an our poor decision making around the box.Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostWe certainly outpassed them. Which is great obviously.

Yeah. He was being played out on the wide that isn't his position. And in the few minutes he has been on the field he has contributed similar amounts to Sterling.Originally posted by ~LFCHistory~ View PostYeah, he was tearing the league up before he got injured, oh, wait IIRC he had been demoted to the bench in favour of a 19 year old from the reserves.
His movement is very very good, a lot of our goals so far this season actually came from Borini's movement pulling defenders away.
Wasn't all bollocks, to be fair we are quite unorganised.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostThat is bollocks. It was a poor result but we massively outplayed Villa. The times they are a changin'.

We were today, were not in previous games. Errors cost us today and Skrtel didn't do well enough dealing with Benteke imo.Originally posted by Gibbo View PostWasn't all bollocks, to be fair we are quite unorganised.

What do you define as outplaying? Possession? Penetration? Number of clear chances? I don't know Matt, I watched the whole game this evening and yes we did have more possession etc and the stats favoured us. But, I honestly thought they were the better team, the way they passed and moved and the way they pressed and worked harder.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostThat is bollocks. Their second goal summed it up for me. So, whilst we were not a shambles, lets not get ahead of ourselves because it does sometimes (and I am not having a go or directing this at you Matt) look to me that we come across as deluded saying we were the better team by miles based purely on stats.
I am old fashioned maybe, but before all these possession stats you had a 'feel' of who played better in a match and in my mind Villa were the better team today.
Not panicking yet but I wonder how many here would be happy for us to sacrifice our style of play for results. Do we need a bit more directness? Sometimes I think we do, and I will go back to what I believe is the footballing ethos of this club as stated by Bob Paisley....."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Maybe BR needs to reflect on this.
