One of our biggest problems is that we don't control the transitions very well. Firstly when we win the ball and then move to counter (although its been better of late but still nowhere near good enough) and secondly when we lose the ball we can't seem to get close enough to the opposition to stop them in the first phase. Teams are finding it too easy to win the ball off us and then play through us. Thats about people not involved in the play being disciplined enough to hold positions to control spqce or mark players better.

But were not brilliant at defending as a unit. There's more than one way of controlling the game. You can control it with the ball and you can control ot without. Rodgers wants us to control it with the ball whereas teams like stoke can control it without the ball.

we have to be better at both.

Hodgson got sacked after a similar period in charge with similar results. I'm not saying we should sack him but its been done.

Bollocks. When you make a mistake do you just plough on regardless? Our manager should be Rafa, in order to fix that first you have to sack Rodgers.

mate I hear what you're saying but rafa is tied up with Chelsea and no doubt real Madrid will be knocking on his door as soon as the season ends.

We've just got to see this out and take stock at the end of the season.

            Rafa? Moronic statement.

When Rodgers was appointed it was widely agreed by many that 3 transfer windows were required to shape the team to Rodger's likening, and at the same time right Kenny's mistakes, and to a certain extent, Rafa's.

Yet a few bad results and the kneejerkers come out in force. We will go absolutely nowhere except down if we sack Rodgers within the next year and a half at least.

I agree that BR needs to be given this season at the very least. However, the '****ing retard' that is Abramovich has got his team to win the title on several occasions and also the CL.

Ultimately it is all about winning, and I always thought thats what Liverpool FC is about.

we should be good enough to get into the top six. Why aren't we there.

if you look at some of my earlier posts I've said the same thing before. Its not rocket science to see we aren't playing like a team. Instead all three departments are doing different things.

That's why when we get the ball its not always pretty But better than before and especially when we lose the ball we look hapless and clueless.

Its not hard to beat us infact most teams that have a real go at us get something from the game.

Personnel is a bigger issue for us than tactical discipline at the moment imo, and I reckon the former is the cause of the latter. The players that can do are exhausted. The players that can't will, in time.

Need a couple of transfer windows to see how things taking shape. That will come with time and it's just one of those things that needs to pan out.

Think about it my way for a minute. He just got a 5 year deal, team is playing poorly etc. New CEO comes in to steady the ship and sell the club. Rafa rocks the boat. Boughton does not give a hoot over petty little arguments etc. Rafa has bad press over recent issues. Boughton sacks Rafa?

What If he never opened his mouth, who knows he could still be a job, with FSG as owners and 100m to spend etc.

I agree he made some amazing signings. But I can also add to that list

Babel for 10.5m, Dossena for 7m, El Zhar, GoalKeeper Cavilerri for 3.5m, Palleta, Leto, Insua were well over 100m now.

                              Rafa :rocks:

If only he never opened his mouth over that incident [my opinion]
                              You are talking absolute bilge.

Aquilani was a massive ****-up. Keane was costly but £20m for a proven PL striker - a good one at the time - made sense.

Jovanovic, Degen and Voronin were utter ****. Punts. ****, but you could sort of see the logic in signing them on freebies.

Babel at £10.5m is the sort of person that a majority of this forum would be crying if we hadn't signed him after the U21 2007 Euro's and he'd have gone to Arsenal or similar.

                              Dossena - ****.

Cavalieri was a decent keeper. Heck, I wouldn't mind him being here now actually. Same goes for Insua and Riera. Leto has also done well since leaving us.

The rest of the above players were signed for peanuts.

I'm not saying that Rafa didn't have his faults, because he did. But you're talking a load of old cunt, frankly.

We all have our own opinions and there's nothing wrong with that, but stop talking utter ****ing gash ffs.

Rafa spent a lot of money and made a couple of duff signings. But only him and Houllier have actually spent money wisely as LFC manager in the last 25 years.

                                is the wrong answer.

A good manager gets the best out of what he's got whilst slowly implementing his own style. If we can't play 433 why not play 451 or 4231.

he should have analysed his squad and realised that he's got four or five who arw capable of playing his way and so he wants to keep and the rest can't be fitted into his system.

How can you play your style with five players doing what you want and the rest do something else.

Its not like we have a bundle of cash to address the weaknesses either. So a clever manager plays with the cards he's got and doesn't make excuses until he's dealt four aces.
