He'll be given funds, whether he uses them properly is a worry for me, IMO the omens are not good. He signed 5 players last summer and not one of them has come close to being a success.Originally posted by Joey Jones View PostHe's got to be given at least two seasons. I agree with you about the transfer window, he's got to get the right players in at the right price and hope they hit the ground running. It all depends what transfer funds his given though.
Allen - Looks like he's being found out at this level
Sahin - Massive dissapointment so far
Assaidi - Barely played and it doesn't look like BR rates him
Borini - ****
Yesil - Nowhere near ready
Worrying.

Why've you written off Borini? He's been injured for almost two months and he wasn't "****" while he was playing. Maybe not scoring as much as we'd like, but that's a very, very harsh summation.Originally posted by ~LFCHistory~ View PostHe'll be given funds, whether he uses them properly is a worry for me, IMO the omens are not good. Don't think Allen is being "found out" at this level, either. He played top-flight football last season and looked brilliant for the first two months of the season. He's been pretty awful in a few performances recently but I reckon he needs dropping for a few matches to give him a chance to return to form and then see what he's all about.

Unless it is patently clear he is not up to the job.Originally posted by Joey Jones View PostYou can't be changing manager every season though.
I think he is and should/will be given the backing his vision for this club deserves. If he is backed and still fails a top 8 finish then serious questions have to be asked. However, I believe with the right players we will finish the second half of the season strong."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley

I'm not writing anyone off, I was merely giving my opinion on what I've seen so far this season, both Allen and Borini may come good, who knows but so far they have been underwhelming to put it mildly.Originally posted by Marina View PostWhy've you written off Borini? For a combined 25 million I'd expect just a tad more.Last edited by ~LFCHistory~; 15-12-12, 09:35 PM.

Yeah, he was tearing the league up before he got injured, oh, wait IIRC he had been demoted to the bench in favour of a 19 year old from the reserves.Originally posted by Gibbo View PostNo way is Borini ****, bollocks statement.

their midfield did what we didn't after 20 mins. They battled and competed better than we did. They also won a lot of second halls and plenty of the 50-50s. Lucas is so deep he's playing like a centre back. No wonder were constantly losing the midfield battle if our defensive midfielder is 20 yards from where he should be.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostWell that is not true. there midfield did next to nothing all game. To say we couldn't keep them quiet is nonsense. What we had a problem with was Benteke, not their midfield.
The knock on effect is that our midfield is too far from the action.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

He's only played about 330 minutes in the league! Didn't score in his first 5 Roma games either but finished the season with 9 in 24. Maybe the 21 year old lad will improve?Originally posted by ~LFCHistory~ View PostYeah, he was tearing the league up before he got injured, oh, wait IIRC he had been demoted to the bench in favour of a 19 year old from the reserves.

I don't want to get on his back after a bad defeat but this style of his isn't a winning style. We have a lot of the ball but we don't threaten enough. It looks pretty but isn't effective. It sounds very odd saying this but were playing like a plucky league 1 side that's having a right go at bigger teams and play good football without any penetration. However ultimately our opponents greater class shows on the counter attack and the punish us.
that's all well and good but were Liverpool and so far its been **** from Rodgers.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

I was just thinking how quickly Laudrup identified the need for a player such as Michu, and increased their goal scoring prowess overnight almost.
However, up untill today i was feeling more confident, i could see us forming into a good side, with January to come and new faces into the squad, that i hoped BR would get right and make a difference, so i won't get all down just yet, next game has added pressure though, we don't want to be completely derailed.Last edited by Vermilion; 15-12-12, 11:05 PM.
